Free Resources for K-5 Educators - let's make a splash!

Glad you could drop in and share some air with us! You've passed your underwater navigation skills and successfully found your way to the start point - or in this case, our home page. As an explorer willing to look Under The Surface, you will discover that this site has treasures of information for you.
The site is designed to help you find K-5 applications for Lesson Planning and/or provide complementary materials. Click on the left column for the core area subjects and others. Links on the right are highly useful Web resources.
Just a quick heads-up -- there is a new protocol "under the surface" that can aid the way you prepare your lessons. Collaborative sharing of thoughts, best practices, best sites and favorite lessons is easy in this Blog. Look for "treasure chests" as teachers begin using this resource extensively.
The Free and Open Source Software Summer Taskforce composed of
Lisa Thompson (Green), Leticia Alvarado (Hornedo) and Patty Freyermuth
(Bond) looked at over
5,000 Open Source applications, and narrowed them down to a few usable
ones that were then correlated to TEKS and shared as lesson plans.
